Canon EOS 50D: 15.1 MP camera

Canon is pulling out a new big bomb in its digital camera arsenal with the release of the EOS 50D Digital SLR Camera with 15.1MP resolution and the new DIGIC 4 image processor. Expected to be out in October, the body is going to cost around $1400 or in a kit version with Canon’s EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom lens, its gonna cost around $1600.
A lot of features are offered in this powerful camera. Canon is bringing out the new "Creative Auto Mode" for giving users "more creative flexibility to make image setting adjustments," which means that the users can make changes while in auto mode to things like aperture and shutter speed as the camera menu on the back screen brings out the options in more easy to understand terms. The back screen, BTW, is three-inches and designed to help consumers make use of functions like the face detection mode's up to 35 individual forward-looking faces support. Canon claims that the 15.1-megapixel CMOS APS-C size image sensor is improved by the use of "newly designed gapless microlenses over each pixel to reduce noise and expand sensitivity up to ISO 12800." This sensor, in conjunction with the image processor, reportedly is capable of 6.3 frame-per-second (fps) continuous shooting capability (for bursts of up to 90 Large/Fine JPEGs or 16 RAW images on a UDMA CF card). Continuing on down the long features list, the EOS 50D s levels of noise reduction during high-speed shooting, conducting peripheral illumination correction, analyzing the brightness of subjects and automatically adjusting dark images, outputting HDMI for display on a HDTV and offering support with two sRAW recording formats, sRAW1 and sRAW2. RAW settings can be used "in Basic Zone as well as Creative Zone shooting modes."
