Sony is adding high-definition movie recording to its popular digital camera series with the introduction of the Cyber-shot® DSC-T500 model. This 10-MP camera features wide and full-screen 720p movie recording at 30 frames per second in fine, standard and VGA recording modes. This resolution is three times higher than the standard-definition movies. The movie function is based on the MPEG4 AVC/H.264 codec for video compression and stereo audio. Benefits of the format include high-quality video as well as small file sizes that are easy to download, upload and share. Movie capture on this model is further improved by including zoom while in recording mode and high-sensitivity shooting for natural or low light environments. The camera can continuously record a video clip up to 10 minutes in length, which can be increased to hours of clips by expanding the camera’s capacity with a Memory Stick® media card. Also featured is a dual photo and video capture mode. Pressing the photo button while in movie mode can capture up to three photos with no break in recording. Sony PSP-3000: The third iteration for the PSP

The Sony PSP has been around for quite a fair number of years already, and has always been playing second fiddle to the more successful Nintendo DS Lite despite looking as though it will crush all competition when it was first announced. Now, Sony has come with the third edition of their PSP, rightly called the PSP-3000.

The updated PSP-3000 is expected to go public on October 14th, and will feature a brand new LCD display that is said to come with a wider color gamut as well as anti-reflection technology, allowing you to enjoy a better gaming experience even when you’re out in the bright sun. Interestingly enough, the PSP-3000 will now adopt a microphone just like how the original DS does.Also in-game multiplayer verbal communication is a possibility with the microphone. Other than those improvements, everything else remains the same as the PSP-2000 (Slim & Lite edition).

iPhone in India: prices unveiled

The much-awaited iPhone will be available in India from 22nd August onwards by the country's top mobile operators Bharti Airtel and Vodafone.
Bharti Airtel Ltd. announce just a few hours earlier that it will sell Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) third-generation 8gb iPhone in India, the world's fastest-growing mobile market, for INR31,000 ($709).

Bharti Airtel will begin retailing the iPhone at three company-owned outlets - one each in Gurgaon town on the outskirts of New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore - at 12 a.m. (1830 GMT) on Aug. 22, the mobile operator said in an e-mail to its subscribers who had signed up for updates on the iPhone's forthcoming launch.

The 16gb model will be available for $36,100, the email said..

Their rival Vodafone Essar, India's third-largest mobile operator, will also be charging Apple's iPhone 3G at 31,000 rupees ($708) for the 8GB model, a senior company official, said on Wednesday,

Vodafone Essar will be selling the 16gb model at 36,100 rupees ($824).
Ironically, the new iPhone sells for as low as $199 in the United States.
