Rainbow of iPod Nanos announced

The new Nano design is equipped with a wide screen for watching the HD content available from the iTunes Store. The new Nano designs with a curved design to them, come in a rainbow of colors, and an ever so slight price reduction. In addition, the Nano takes advantage of the accelerometer which changes the screen size, by allowing a “shake shuffle” mode that empowers users to shake it to move to the next song on the shuffle. Also available are new earbuds which have navigation controls right on the bud cord and a microphone for the built in memo recording feature (sold separate for about $79). The new iPod nanos come in 8GB for about $150, or 16GB for $199 .A new iPod Classic 120GB model, portending the discontinuing of the 160GB variation, is also on the cards.

It doesnt end there. Steve Jobs, the co-founder, CEO of Apple inc. also announced an update to the iTunes Store to version 8, which has a “genius” mode to suggest similar music tracks based upon what a listener has on their playlist.

Also, there is happy news for existing users. Finally, iPhone and iPod Touch users can upgrade to OSX2.1 for free, if they have already updated from 2.0. Those below that will have to pay the additional $10 fee. It fixes a lot of bugs including call drops, battery life, and app crashes.

The 8GB Nanos are available now, with the 16GB models due out this weekend.

Asus' Eee PC 1000 4G netbook

Asus' new Eee PC 1000 40G totally another beast compared to the earlier Eee PC series. Perhaps the most mature of this latest crop of netbooks, the 40G sports a 1.6GHz Atom processor, a 10" screen with 1024x600 display resolution, a 91% keyboard, 40GB of solid-state storage, and a six-cell battery. Of course, the Eee PC's form factor has grown to host this new goodness, and so has its price.

Asus looks intent to impress on the aesthetics front with the Eee PC 1000, which will be available in a number of colors, including a shiny black pictured above.

Wind MSI with 160gb hard disk

MSI may be launching a new cool version of its MSI Wind U100, the ultraportable that so far has been a success. This ultraportable gadgets you can find in the stores carries a 80GB memory, but it seems that the novelty in this version will change with the arrival of the 160GB hard drive.

Apparently Microsoft lifted the HDD storage limit on the low-cost XP license to 160GB.

MSI also offers some 120GB MSI Wind models on their shop. Other features are the same, only the hard-drive sizes vary.

Apparently, MSI should also start to offer SSD based MSI Wind U100 to directly compete with more of the Asus Eee PC netbooks.

The ultraportable Everun Note and its touchscreen

The much-awaited ultraportable Everun is one of the coolest gadgets. Everun Note is one of those laptops which cannot be compared to the currently triumphing ones, the Eee PC or the Aspire One. It has a dual-core processor, hence it is extremely heavy, but the main attraction is the touch-screen.

With Windows XP Home (no Vista at the momrent) it is really gonna fly.
