Gaming laptops from Asus: the G50 and G71

Asus has unveiled two new gaming notebooks in the G Series as part of the Asus Republic of Gamers product (ROG) line-up.
The new Asus G71 (17 inch) and G50 (15 inch) are the new gaming laptops released by Asus. Both new Asus G series gaming notebooks have almost the same specifications. The only difference lies in the screen size and resulting form factor, HDD options. Additionally, there are more CPU options for G71 including Intel Quad Core QX9300 and QX9100.

Features of the G71V and G50V include Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT with 512MB GDDR3 VRAM, Intel Turbo Memory Technology with 2GB (optional), up to 4GB RAM, up to 640GB storage (G50, 2x HDD), up to 1TB storage (G71, 2x HDD), DVD Super Multi Double Layer, Light Scribe, DVD combo, Blu-ray DVD writer, Wifi and Bluetooth.

As you dig deep into the game, the G Series even comes alive with fancy LED lighting effects along the notebook's side while the back changes colour according to the fan speed!

In addition to the laptop, you get the must-have Republic of Gamers backpack. The package also includes a professional-grade 1600dpi gaming mouse that offers real-time sensitivity adjustment and a Siberia Steel Gaming Headset that accommodates extended sessions of gameplay in cool comfort.

There is no pricing information available as of now for the G71 and G50.

Latest gaming laptops from MSI

MSI has unveiled three new gaming notebooks - the GX400, GX630, GT735.

The 14.1-inch GX400 and 15.4-inch GX630 are based on Intel’s Centrino 2 mobile platform and feature Core 2 Duo processors and the Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT video cards. On the other hand, the 17-inch GT735 is powered by AMD “Puma” technology, Turion X2 Ultra CPUs, and the ATi Mobility Radeon HD3850 dedicated graphics card. A whole feast for gamers.

These gaming beasts have up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, 500GB of hard drive space, a DVD burner or Blu-Ray drive, built-in web camera, and HDMI output.

The GX400, GX630, and GT735 comes with theTurbo Drive Engine Technology, which enables users to increase the speed of the CPU when the laptop is in AC mode just by the push of a button.

To add to all the above features, there is the ECO Engine power management function that enables switching among 5 different operation modes – Gaming mode, Movie mode, Presentation mode, Office mode, and power saving Turbo Battery mode.

No information on pricing and availability of the new MSI gaming notebooks has been out.

The Sony PSP has been around for quite a fair number of years already, and has always been playing second fiddle to the more successful Nintendo DS Lite despite looking as though it will crush all competition when it was first announced. Now, Sony has come with the third edition of their PSP, rightly called the PSP-3000.

The updated PSP-3000 is expected to go public on October 14th, and will feature a brand new LCD display that is said to come with a wider color gamut as well as anti-reflection technology, allowing you to enjoy a better gaming experience even when you’re out in the bright sun. Interestingly enough, the PSP-3000 will now adopt a microphone just like how the original DS does.Also in-game multiplayer verbal communication is a possibility with the microphone. Other than those improvements, everything else remains the same as the PSP-2000 (Slim & Lite edition).

Sony released new wireless Keypad for PS3 controller

Sony has always come to the rescue of the gamers with a new product.And Sony has done it again. This time it has come out with a new wireless keyboard for the PlayStation 3 controller, intended to help with in game text messaging and PS3 browser navigatoin. The black keyboard clips on over the front of the DualShock 3/SIXAXIS with the keyboard located above the main controller area.Though, nothing much about its practical knowledge is known, this Playstation 3 wireless controller is definitely going to make a new revolution in gaming. Anyway, we can always attach a new pc gadget with our computer.This cool gadget comes in 8 different languages and words are out that the keypad also has touchpad mode to allow mouse input, which is believed to be used extensively in future gaming.

Sony's wireless keypad is expected to be out only by November. But one thing is that about it is with this wireless keypad users can easily be able to play games in PS3 by providing more comfort to the user. The price has not yet been announced.Perhaps, waiting for the launch may reveal more things.

There are lots of gaming chairs that have speakers and a subwoofer, which are nice and have been done to perfection, but Gyroxus' gaming chair is a GAMING CHAIR. It's akin to the types of rigs one sees in arcades that jiggles people like crazy in sync with whatever racing, flying or shooting game you've just thrown four quarters into.


The Gyroxus works with Xbox 360, Windows, PS3, PS2 and "Nintendo", but neither of the two ordering options list any Nintendo compatibility. If the video after the jump is correct, all it does is lean forward, back, left or right depending on which way you move the center stick. Not only does this seem not all that comfortable, it'd be kind of a pain playing titles like Gears of War 2 on this thing. But racing games, on the other hand, could be phenomenal.
